Starting this Friday February 22nd
through March 26th 2018.
It
lasts for five weeks and consists of one workout per week, and just about
everyone who belongs to a box will take part.
This competition is for everyone —
all levels, all ages, all abilities — not just elite athletes looking to
compete in The CrossFit Games.
"From Fittest on Earth to first-timer, we
all start together," as CrossFit likes to say.
Even if you've only been
doing CrossFit for a couple of weeks, you can still compete, you can just do
the scaled version.
The Games season is
broken up into three stages.
The first stage is the Open.
This five-week,
five-workout competition is held in the winter in CrossFit affiliates and
garage gyms around the world.
Workouts are released online each Thursday, and
athletes have until the following Monday to submit their scores.
