While everyone else is
thinking about Christmas, you are thinking of how do I arrange the festive
period around my training for the Fan Dance.
The Bulletproofbodies
Team will be there to keep all athletes from getting a Musculo-Skeletal injury providing before race and in between race treatments.

Nick
Grainge, from South Wales, ran the Grim up North Marathon with an 80 pound
Bergen (rucksack) strapped to his back on Saturday, October 26, 2019
The
45-year-old managed to complete the marathon in 5 hours, 39 minutes and 17
seconds - beating the previous record holder Michael Barker who ran it in 5 hours
and 43 minutes in 2016.
Mr
Grainge took on the challenge to show people that anything is possible if you
put your mind to it.
He
said: "I wanted to prove to people that anyone can bring themselves up
from nothing.
"You
can do anything if you just put your mind to something. You can achieve what
you want.
"It's
not about being the fittest, it is just about being the best you can be and
getting healthier."
The
father-of-one joined the British Armed Forces in 1992 before joining the SAS,
working as a Personal Training Instructor.
He
left the armed forces in the mid-2000s and then worked in civilian security in
Middle East for 11 years.
Nick
credits this experience in the military and his passion for weighted fitness
for inspiring him to set up his own company, Elite Outdoor Fitness, which he
founded in 2014.
Nick
said: "During my military career, I initially worked with people who had
sustained catastrophic injuries but later began training all kinds of people.
"When
I left the forces I was determined and invested in starting my own company to
help people.
"We
work with all different kinds of people and it's not just about weight loss,
it's about building confidence and improving people's lives."
Nick,
was supported by friends, family and clients during his world record breaking
attempt and was also tracked by social media users on the app Strava.
He
credits this sense of support and community as the key to any success.
He
said: "You don't achieve much on your own, you do with lots of people
around you supporting you.
"We've
changed peoples lives but we do it as a group. It's a great community.
"It's
all about taking yourself out of your comfort zone with people around that
support you.
He
added: ""My family are very proud of me though I think my wife thinks
I'm a bit mad - though I think they've got used to me doing mad things.
"The
marathon has taken a lot of hard work and effort because it is way off the scale
but I really wanted to inspire others.
"If
more people take the challenge to make themselves fitter and stronger, the
world would be much more positive."
The
world record attempt raised more than £1,800 for Age Cymru, a charity which
supporters older people in Wales.
Last weekend Dale, Uzo
and James from Bulletproofbodies teamed up with Avalanche Endurance Events (AEE)
to provide Physiotherapy and Foot Care Support to all Endurance Athletes.
The scene is the mighty
Pen Y Fan in the Brecon Beacons and the race is the Fan Dance.
Last Summer was extremely
hot but last weekend the weather was perfect for racing up and down the hill.
At Bulletproofbodies, we are just like you.
We treat Athletes
during the day and then race ourselves at night for Exercise High Moon.

While everyone else is
thinking about joining the Gym and losing some weight for the New Year,
Endurance Athletes have been training hard over the Christmas break to perform
on the first adventure race of the year, the legendary
Fan Dance.
Last weekend three
events were available:
The Fan Dance, Double
Tap and Trident.
Some were also doing Blade Runner!
Clean fatigue choose to run,
others TAB as they are carrying load, but all of them will be challenged by the hill.
AEE (Avalanche
Endurance Events) are an awesome team to work hard to make this race the gold
standard for both fun and safety.
There is always a
different feel about this event when compared to other races.
There is a Military
flavour to this event that makes every athlete sit up and take notice.
From the kit checks to
the photo at the finish, this event is the real deal.
The Bulletproofbodies
Team were there to keep all athletes from getting a Musculo-Skeletal injury and
for treatment in between races.
Physio support from Dale and Uzo was available around the clock as we provide the necessary treatment to keep athletes going.
This is Claire who is
clearly telling us that she wants to come in first place.
Mark in the ready
position at the start of his third and final ascent.

out our e-book on injury prevention and management for the Hill.
We will see you back on
the hill for the Summer Fan Dance 2019.
After the pain, a well-deserved
Fan Dance Ale.
The Bulletproofbodies
Team salutes all athletes and support staff with AEE.
Two weekends ago I experienced the so called, "Runners High."
The Bulletproofbodies SF Fit Team were working at the AEE Special Forces Event in the Brecon Beacons and we got a chance to do the night march/run/Tab.
About an hour into the run I felt more alive and in tune with my body than I have for years.
It felt primal, man against mountain. We were running in a group, competing only against ourselves and the terrain. The Sunset start, the warm summer air the beautiful scenery all contributed to this feeling of euphoria.
The runner's high has
two components to it.
The physical and the
mental.
The physical results
from the release of endorphins (or does it? - see above video) and this usually occurs thirty to forty minutes
after continuous running, the mental aspect is the more elusive one aspect of
this state.
The mental phenomenon
is usually described as, "a state of euphoria and absence of the self or ego."
And yet you need to pay
attention to your breathe, the scenery, your muscles and open your mind to all
sensations as you run. If you do this the ego is eliminated at least for a while
and the runners high is then experienced.
